Bluegrass Music From the Heart of Bluegrass Country: Kentucky Shine Premieres Debut Single “Green River”

Kentucky Shine is a bluegrass band from Owensboro, KY. Formed in 2020 right before the world shut down, they’ve spent the last year writing music and playing gigs around the region, opening for Wolfpen Branch, and taking the stage at the historic Rosine Barn Jamboree. Now they’re releasing their debut single “Green River” from their upcoming EP “Leavin’ Town” and premiering it right here before it hits streaming platforms tomorrow.
The Green River which runs through Western and Central Kentucky is probably most well known from the John Prine penned “Paradise”. Written by Jordan Wood (Guitar & Vocals) the song is a love letter to the river and his time growing up in Muhlenberg County. A sing along that is accompanied by the beautiful instrumentation that Kentucky Shine is becoming noticed for, you’ll be transported to the Bluegrass State and it’s beautiful scenery that has inspired many a songwriter to pen love letters.
